o-Cresol is used to manufacture the dimethyl tetrachloride herbicide and function as the diluent of sebacic acid.  o-Cresol is a raw material to manufacture epoxy cresol resins and o-methyl phenolic resins. It is a food flavor (salicylaldehyde) approved by GB2760-1996. o-Cresol can also be used to make disinfectants, pharmaceutical intermediates, plasticizers, spices, dyes, chemical reagents and antioxidants
